7 Steps to Worksite Wellness Success

According to the Wellness Councils of America, a successful worksite wellness program should follow the steps listed below.

1. Capturing CEO Support
2. Creating Cohesive Wellness Teams
3. Collecting Data To Drive Health Efforts
4. Carefully Crafting An Operating Plan
5. Choosing Appropriate Interventions
6. Creating A Supportive Environment
7. Carefully Evaluating Outcomes

Total Wellness can assist in all of these areas. For step one Total Wellness assists in capturing upper level support by offering return on investment reporting and consulting. Our Health Risk Assessment creates custom reports for clients so the upper management can see exactly how the wellness program can increase productivity, contain health care costs, and decrease absenteeism. Total Wellness is an integral part of step two because we are an excellent team member to any company wellness team. Total Wellness’s Health Risk Assessment and health screenings provide an outlet to collect data for step three and in step four Total Wellness can assist in crafting an operating plan. Total Wellness offers a variety of interventions including health education seminars, lunch and learn events, flu shots, health coaching and more. Such interventions help complete step five. Total Wellness assists in step six by providing guidance and support to company contacts and employees. After screening events employees have up to 2 weeks to talk with one of our nurses about your results. To complete the process Total Wellness provides aggregate reports and executive summaries to evaluate program outcomes. Total Wellness also suggests offering the program year after year to evaluate overall program success.
